Did we learn nothing from Jen Schefft? After "winning" Andrew Firestone's heart on The Bach season 3, they later broke up and Jen went on to become the first Bachelorette to reject all the men. Obviously this "process" did not work for Jen either time, and I have a feeling it will not work for Emily either. This chick does not need a TV show to find love! She already won, and it did not work! Why put yourself through this again?!
Brad called her the "Quintessential Southern Belle," and according to People.com Emily will start filming The Bachelorette in March 2012. Throughout Brad's season, Emily taught us a lot of fun southern phrases (I wonder if she's "nervous as all get out" to start filming?) and brought us plenty of "my momma always says" moments ("it's better to be home alone than to be home and wish you were alone" - wise words indeed)... but I don't think Emily is the right choice to be the next Bach.
First of all, I feel like they might be jumping the gun - what if Ben's #2 or #3 pick is a better choice? Secondly, she said multiple times that she does not enjoy being in the spotlight, and how much would that suck for her if they cast 25 Bentley-esque losers? Worse, what if Bentley is actually one of them?
And why in the world have they NEVER picked an original Bachelorette who has not appeared on a season of The Bachelor? Trista was dumped by Aaron on Season 1, Meredith was dumped by Bob Guiney, DeAnna was dumped by Brad the first time around, Jillian was dumped by Jason, Ali dumped by Jake, Ashley dumped by Brad the second time around, and now Emily. Are there not any NEW, smart, hot, attention-seeking women out there?
I am hoping for the best for Emily though. After what she's been through, she needs to catch a break. Please men, don't let her down.
I don't know if she is really ready to find love and be in love. We should count how many times she says Little Ricki during her season.
