The Bach premiere plans

The best Monday nights involve The Bach, a few good girlfriends, comfy pants, a bottle of wine, some munchies and a DVR (to rewind/re-watch the most dramatic scenes and fast forward through Chris Harrison’s 289 “coming up” scenes).

But if you’re like me, you probably want to take it one step farther to make it interesting. In the past, I’ve organized a Bach pool: $5 to pick a bachelorette; if yours receives the final rose, you get the pot. I would print out pictures of all the girls (you can download a cheat sheet from ABC here), and glue them to a poster board. My friends and I would draw a number out of a hat to determine the picking order. At the end of the premiere, each girl would pick a favorite (big ballers would pick 2 or 3) and sign their name under their photo. Each week, we’d take the poster/pot with us to the viewing parties and put a big Sharpie X through the faces of the girls who were sent home.

This year, I’m trying something new. Ashley Spivey (from Brad’s 2nd season) posted a bracket on her blog that looks like fun. Fill in which bachelorettes you think will receive roses each week and follow the point system. Girl with the most points at the end of the season wins! I love this idea, since you can play along all season and never be out of the game. (You can download her bracket here.) If you ran out of toner or don't feel like going to the trouble, the Facebook fantasy Bach app is pretty fun too.

I’ve always wanted to go all-out with a Bach drinking game, but I think I’ll need to save this idea for the finale when my Envolve wine arrives, since I have a big girl job now that requires me to wake up in the 6’s  on Tuesday and use my brain all day (gross). But if you are way cooler than me and want to partake, Buddy TV posted lots of rules for a fun one. My favorite: drink once if someone describes Ben as “hot,” “beautiful” or “sexy” and drink twice if they immediately cut to a shot of him looking dopey or normal. Hilarious.

If you enjoy staying out in Hollywood till 2 a.m. on a Monday (tell me, who actually does this?), you can watch The Bach with some past season rejects and even bid on a date with them for charity. Details here.

I personally will be enjoying the premiere in the comfort of Kiley’s house in Cypress (hi Kiley – this is my official RSVP) with a group of friends who love The Bach as much as I do! Can’t wait to write my first recap of the season!

  1. This season will be fancy with all of the wine! Looks like the CL will be staying in the fridge. Count me in for the game and finale and hopefully a couple episodes in between.

  2. Kara - fill out the bracket tomorrow and send us a pic! And PS I'm sure the CLs will also find their way out of the fridge, as always ;)
